Yankuba Gassama

Yankuba Gassama , also in the spelling Yankuba Kassama (born April 25, 1958 ), was Minister of Health and Social Welfare ( Secretary of State for Health and Social Welfare ) of the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Born on April 25, 1958, Yankuba Gassama went to primary school (Sinchu Njabo Primary School) in the Upper Baddibu District ( North Bank Region ) from 1965 . After further stations in his school education, he attended Alfatah University in Tripoli / Libya from 1979 to 1985 . Then until 1986 he practiced in the Teaching University Hospital in Tripoli.

From 1989 worked at the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Glasgow and in various other houses in the United Kingdom until 1996. In 1996 he attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland . In addition to his stays abroad, Gassama also practiced at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Banjul .

In April 2001, Gassama was appointed to the cabinet by President Jammeh , replacing Isatou Njie Saidy in that ministry. On March 4, 2005, Tamsir Mbowe succeeded Gassama as Minister of Health and Social Affairs.

Gassama is married and has two children.
