Yann Galut

Yann Galut (born March 14, 1966 in Antony ) is a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2002 and has been a member of the National Assembly since 2012 .

Galut began his commitment to the Mouvement des Jeunes Socialistes as early as 1981, ahead of the election of François Mitterrand as President . He studied law in Paris and was active in the UNEF . In 1996 he started his work as a lawyer, which he also practiced for the anti-racism organization SOS Racisme . The following year he was elected to the National Assembly for the Parti socialiste in the third constituency of the Cher department . In 2002 he narrowly failed in re-election. His renewed candidacy in 2007 only just failed. In 2008 he was appointed to the General Council of the Cher département. With the parliamentary elections in 2012 , he also returned to parliament. In December 2012, in response to Gérard Depardieu's tax evasion, he asked for citizenship to be withdrawn in such cases.
