Yannick Vu

Yannick Vu (born August 27, 1942 in Montfort-l'Amaury , France ) is a French painter, sculptor and art historian.

Life

Yannick Vu was born as the daughter of the Vietnamese painter Vu Cao Dam and a Breton pianist. She lived in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, France, and later in Rome . She married the Italian artist Domenico Gnoli on Mallorca, with whom she lived from 1963 in Deià in the S'Estaca estate on the island. After her husband's death in 1970, she lived in Panama . She married the sculptor Ben Jakober with whom she lives in the Sa Bassa Blanca estate in the municipality of Alcúdia on the Mallorcan peninsula of La Victòria .

She works as a painter and sculptor. She also works on objects together with her husband. As an art historian, she mainly deals with children's pictures from the 16th to 19th centuries, which she also collected. The pictures are exhibited by her in an underground museum, which she runs together with her husband in memory of her daughter who died in a motorcycle accident on Moorea , Polynesia . She also grows roses.
