Yantian ( Chinese 鹽田 區 / 盐田 区 , Pinyin Yántián qū - "literally:" salt field "") is one of the ten districts of the city of Shenzhen in the Chinese province of Guangdong . The district was created in March 1998 as a new city district and is located within the special economic zone between Luohu and Longgang .
Yantian is the hub of the logistic activities of Shenzhen, in particular there is a large container port here.
The Minsk aircraft carrier lay in Shatoujiao for 18 years and was used as a tourist attraction before being towed to Nantong in 2016 .
Administrative structure
At the community level, Yantian is made up of four street districts. These are:
- Road quarter Haishan ( 海山街道 );
- Meisha street district ( 梅沙 街道 );
- Road quarter Shatoujiao ( 沙头角街道 );
- Yantian ( 盐田 街道 ) street district .
