The Ybbstaler Fruit Austria GmbH develops and manufactures products for various sectors of the beverage and food industry. The company is a 100% subsidiary of RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria AG .
Company history
In 1936 the company was founded under the name " Ybbstaler Obstverwertung " in Kröllendorf in the Ybbstal . It produced brandy and must and traded table fruit from the region. At the end of the 1950s, the production of fruit juice concentrates for the international beverage industry began. The term Obi, used in Austria, also spread from it. The YO apple juice brand also became a widely used brand.
In the following years, Ybbstaler developed into an internationally active company. In 1982, the Eckes-Granini Group signed a license agreement with the then Ybbstaler Fruchtsaft GmbH for the production and sale of high C and acquired the trademark rights for obi apple juice. In 1994 the YO brand was realigned. In 1995 Ybbstaler founded two subsidiaries in Romania and Hungary. In 1998 the company acquired another production facility in Poland.
At the end of 2008 the group founded a sales company based in Germany.
In summer 2009, the company expanded its production capacities by taking over an additional plant in Biala Rawska , Poland. The Ybbstaler Group is present in more than 40 countries worldwide.
In April 2012, the EU Commission approved the joint venture between AGRANA Juice Holding GmbH and Ybbstaler Fruit Austria GmbH. The headquarters of the newly founded company Austria Juice GmbH is in Kröllendorf near Amstetten.
