Yidu (Yichang)

The city of Yidu ( Chinese  宜都市 , Pinyin Yídū Shì ) is an independent city in the province of Hubei in the southeast of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Yichang . Yidu has an area of ​​1,357 km² and has 376,974 inhabitants (2004). The seat of government is the street district Lucheng (陆 城 街道).

The former residence and grave of Yang Shoujing (Yang Shoujing guju he mu 杨守敬 故居 和 墓) have been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-995) since 2006 .

Administrative structure

At the community level, the urban district consists of a street district , five large communities and four communities (one of which is Tujia ).
