Ymkje Clevering

Ymkje Clevering (born July 17, 1995 ) is a Dutch rower .

Athletic career

Ymkje Clevering started rowing in 2015. In the following year she took third place in the four without helmsman at the U23 World Championships together with Hermijntje Drenth , Eline Feitsma and Veronique Meester . In 2017, Meester and Clevering competed with the Dutch eighth at the European Championships in Račice u Štětí and won the silver medal behind the Romanians. At the U23 World Championships in 2017, together with Elsbeth Beeres , Karolien Florijn and Veronique Meester, she won the four-man title in front of the boats from Romania and Germany. At the end of the season, the Dutch eighth finished sixth at the World Championships in Sarasota .

At the start of the 2018 season, Clevering competed in the World Cup regatta in Belgrade in both a four-man without a helmsman and an eight-man, and won both boat classes. In Linz she only competed with eighth and won, at the World Cup in Lucerne, the Dutch eighth rowed to fourth place. At the European Championships in Glasgow , the Dutch eighth won bronze behind the Romanians and the British. In Plovdiv at the 2018 World Championships , the eighth finished fourth. In 2019, a foursome without a helmsman in the line-up of Elisabeth Hogerwerf , Karolien Florijn, Ymkje Clevering and Veronique Meester competed at the European Championships in Lucerne and won the gold medal ahead of the Romanians. Three months later, at the World Championships in Linz, the Dutch women won silver behind the Australians.
