Yngve Leback (born September 10, 1948 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish national football player .

career

Leback's first stop was Långsjö IF . In 1960 he moved to Älvsjö AIK's youth department . There he made his debut at the end of the decade in the first team that played in the second division . For the 1971 season he moved to the Allsvenskan to AIK Solna and made his first division debut on April 14, 1971 in a 0-0 draw against Åtvidabergs FF . Ten days later he scored his first goal in the first division in a 1-1 draw against Östers IF .

In his second first division season Leback was able to score ten goals this season and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Swedish national team. On October 15, 1972, he made his debut in the national jersey when the team met in Malta in qualifying for the 1974 World Cup . The game ended with a befitting 7-0 win for the Northern Europeans.

On June 7, 1973 Leback was able to enter himself into the history books of Swedish football for the first time. In a 4-0 win against Djurgårdens IF, he maneuvered the ball three times into the local rivals' goal within the first three minutes of the game, but once from offside. A month later he scored his only international goal in a 1-1 draw with Finland . Nevertheless, he missed the leap into the world championship squad, his fifth and last international match he played in the 4-0 defeat against Czechoslovakia on October 13, 1974.

In 1975 Leback set another record. In the league game against Örebro SK , he scored the fastest goal in league history after just under 8 seconds when he headed the ball to make it 1-0. The greatest success followed a year later: in the final of the Svenska Cup , local rivals Djurgårdens IF were outclassed 5-0.

By 1978 Leback ran a total of 196 games for AIK in the first division and was able to score 57 goals. For the 1979 season he moved to local rivals Vasalunds IF in the second division , where he ended his career for the first time in 1981. In 1983 he was reactivated by his parent club Älvsjö AIK for two seasons.

Others

Leback's brother Börje also played for AIK Solna in the Allsvenskan in the 1970s. In 1983 he was Yngve's trainer at Älvsjö AIK.
