Yotam Halperin (born January 24, 1984 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli basketball player who is currently under contract with Hapoel Jerusalem .
Career
The 1.96 m tall Guard was born on January 24, 1984 in Tel Aviv, Israel. When Halperin was eight years old, he began playing basketball at the top Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv . When he finished his school career and got into the first team, he had great problems getting playing time, as the club was very well staffed in his position with Anthony Parker . In 2005 he got an offer from KK Union Olimpija in Ljubljana, where he played in the 2005-06 season. Olimpija managed to win both the Slovenian Cup and the Slovenian championship this season.
The 2006 NBA draft placed him 53rd, which did not guarantee a contract in the NBA, after which he moved back to Maccabi in his hometown. In the 2006/07 season he performed well and reached the Final Four of the Euroleague with Tel Aviv . On June 15, 2008 Halperin then signed a contract with Olympiakos BC. He fulfilled this contract until the end of the 2010/11 season. He then moved to Russia and played for BK Spartak Saint Petersburg in the first division of Russia in 2011/2012 .
For the 2012/13 season Halperin left Russia again and moved to Germany and signed a one-year contract with the basketball department of FC Bayern Munich . On July 10, 2013 it was announced that his contract with FC Bayern would not be extended. Halperin then returned to his home country and signed a two-year contract with Hapoel Jerusalem .
