Young Griffo

Young Griffo (* 1. January 1871 in Millers Point , Sydney , New South Wales , Australia ; † 10. December 1927 ) was an Australian boxer in the featherweight .

professional

On January 1, 1884, he made his professional debut, which ended with a "no contest" against his compatriot Bill Scott. On September 2, 1890, he competed against Torpedo Billy Murphy for the universal world title and won by giving up. He wore this belt until 1892.

In 1991 Griffo was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
