The Young Peak is a low mountain on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth country . It rises 3 km east of Mount Caroline Mikkelsen and immediately south of Holder Peak .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs from the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 and named it together with Holder Peak as Tvillingfjell (Norwegian for twin mountains ). The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named the mountain described here after William Francis Young (* 1930), who in 1963 headed Davis Station and surveyed the area as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
