Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V ( Japanese 遊 ☆ 戯 ☆ 王
action
Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V is mainly about Yuya Sakaki ( 榊 遊 矢 ), who tries to escape the harsh reality by smiling. But during a duel he makes the decision to face life's difficulties and thereby obtain infinite possibilities. The main theme of the anime is "Take a step forward courageously!"
The action takes place, among other places, in Maiami City , on the coast of Japan. This is where the headquarters of the Leo Corporation is located , which gave birth to Action Duels with their "tangible duel holograms" and which enjoy worldwide popularity. Children look up to star professional duelists and learn different types of incantations and dueling styles at large and small tutoring institutes.
Yuya is one of those students who is learning to be an entertainment duelist , a variant of the professional duelist, at the smaller, private Yushu Juku preparatory school with his girlfriend Zuzu . This is also possible at the larger Leo Duel School (LDS).
Little by little, Yuya and Co. learn of other dimensions and get involved in an interdimensional war ...
Characters
- Yuya Sakaki ( 榊 遊 矢 Sakaki Yūya ) is the 14-year-old main character of Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V. He is a student who is learning to be an entertainment duelist , a variant of the professional duelist. Yuya visits the Yushu Juku in Maiami City with his girlfriend Zuzu . He uses the "pendulum summoning" mechanic to summon high-level monsters in action duels . His favorite card is Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon.
- Zuzu Boyle ( 柊 柚子 Hīragi Yuzu ) is a childhood friend of Yuya. She often gives lively speeches. Her father owns the Yushu Juku , the dueling school she and Yuya attend and spend their time in to improve their dueling skills. She wears a striking bracelet in the form of a flower (allusion to her deck). It is currently under the control of the Academia.
- Declan Akaba ( 赤 馬 零 児 Akaba Reiji ) is the Deputy CEO of Leo Corporation . He is also a highly intelligent super elite duel who has mastered all four special summoning techniques (fusion, synchro, XYZ and pendulum summoning).
- Gong Strong (権 現 坂 昇, Gongenzaka Noboru) is another friend of Yuya's. Gong strictly follows the "gravity style" in action duels, which means he does not move and does not collect any action cards.
- Sora Perse (紫雲 院 素 良, Shiun'in Sora) shows great interest in Yuya's pendulum conjuring and wants to learn it from him. It is noticeable that the little boy always carries a lollipop with him. He is a student at the Academia and hunts Xyz refugees, preferably Shay.
- Yuto (湯 と, Y'ūto) is Yuya's Xyz counterpart and comes from the Xyz dimension, more precisely from Heartland. After the Academia attack, he fled to Maiami City in the Standard Dimension and is looking for his girlfriend Lulu Obsidian. His favorite card is Sinister Rebellion Xyz Dragon.
- Lulu Obsidian (く ろ さ き る り, Kurosaki Ruri) is Shay's younger sister and also comes from Heartland and is also the Xyz counterpart of Zuzu. She was kidnapped by Yuri after her hometown was destroyed. She wears a striking bracelet in the form of feathers (allusion to her deck).
- Shay Obsidian (く ろ さ き し ゅ ん, Kurosaki Shun) is the older brother of Lulu and Yuto's best friend. He is also from Heartland and is a member of the Resistance. Like Yuto, he is looking for his sister and is now part of the Lancers. Its deck is based on the raid raptors.
- Yugo (ゆ ご う, Yugō) is Yuya's synchro counterpart and comes from the synchro dimension, where he belongs to the "commoners". Because of his name, he is repeatedly accused of being a member of the Academia (Yugō = fusion). Since his girlfriend Rin was kidnapped by Yuri, he has tried to free her. His favorite monster is the glass wing synchro dragon.
- Yuri (ユ ー リ, Yūri) is the fusion counterpart of Yuya and belongs to the Academia. He kidnapped Lulu and Rin and belongs to the Academia elite. It appears that he was kidnapped and recruited by them as a child.
- Celina (セ レ ナ, Serena) is the fusion counterpart of Zuzu and belongs to the Academia. In the meantime, however, she is a member of the Lancers and also fights against the fusion dimension. Her bracelet is said to symbolize the moon, which is a nod to her deck.
- Rin (リ ン, Rin) is the synchro counterpart of Zuzu, comes like Yugo from the synchro dimension and was kidnapped by Yuri. Her bracelet stands for the wind, as only wind monsters appear in her deck.
- Ray Akaba (赤 馬 レ イ, Akaba Ray) is the incarnation of Zuzu, Celina, Rin and Lulu, who once lived in the original dimension. When Zarc conjured up the Supreme King Dragon Zarc (fusion consisting of: Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Sinister Rebellion Xyz Dragon, Glass Wing Synchro Dragon and Hunger Poison Fusion Dragon), she faced him with the 4 cards (En Flowers, En Moon, En Wind, En Birds) she stopped him and led the world to split into the 4 dimensions (fusion, synchro, xyz and standard dimensions). Due to the fragmentation of the world, her body also fragmented into 4 girls, Zuzu, Celina, Rin and Lulu.
- Zarc (Z-Arc) is the incarnation of Yuya, Yuto, Yugo and Yuri and, like Ray, once lived in the original dimension. When he summoned the supreme king dragon Zarc, he was stopped by Ray with the 4 cards. After the split it split into Yuya, Yuto, Yugo and Yuri. He plays the Supreme King Dragon deck.
