Yuan family

The Yuan family ( traditionally袁, simplified袁, Pinyin Yuán , W.-G. Yuan ) were an influential Chinese family from Runan during the Han Dynasty . Its best known representative is probably the administrator Yuan Liang , the author of the Book of Changes .

She enjoyed her influential position at least since Yuan An was appointed Minister of Abundance three times in a row (under Emperors Zhang and He ). His descendants were all princes , and his grandson Yuan Feng became Minister of the Interior under Emperor Huan . His sons Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu went their separate ways after the uprising of the Yellow Turban and became powerful warlords . Yuan Shu allied himself with the Sun family and even founded his own dynasty in 197 by virtue of the Imperial Seal , which was, however, quite short-lived (until 199). Yuan Shao led the coalition against Dong Zhuo in 191 and developed alongside Cao Cao to become the most powerful warlord in northern China. However, her wrestling was decided in Cao Cao's favor at the Battle of Guandu (200). Yuan Shao died two years later, and his sons were unable to build a power base.
