Sun family

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sun ( Chinese    /  , Pinyin Sūn  - “literally: grandchildren”) are a widely ramified Chinese family from which the emperors of the Wu dynasty emerged .

The Sun family regards the general and author Sun Tsu as their ancestor. Her descendant, Sun Jian, was a famous general under the Eastern Han Dynasty . His sons Sun Ce and Sun Quan became the most powerful men in the south of China after his death, and their dynasty was the longest of any Three Kingdoms dynasties .

Tribe list

This ancestral list represents the descendants of Sun Zhong, whose identity has not been established. In a popular legend, Sun Zhong is given the choice of whether his descendants should become emperors over a few generations or general over many generations. Sun Zhong opts for the Empire. The same legend is told about Sun Jian .

Some names appear more than once on this root list, but they are never the same people. Furthermore, the names of the female descendants are often unknown - if they are mentioned at all.
