Suffolk Coastal was a district ( English district ) in the county of Suffolk in England . The administrative seat was Woodbridge , other important places were Aldeburgh , Felixstowe , Leiston and Saxmundham .

The district was formed on April 1, 1974 and was created from the merger of the Municipal Borough Aldburgh, the Urban Districts Felixstowe, Leiston, Saxmundham and Woodbridge and the Rural Districts Blyth and Deben. Due to an ordinance issued in May 2018, Suffolk Coastal was merged with Waveney to the north on April 1, 2019 to form the new East Suffolk District .
