Hans Reinmar

Hans Reinmar , actually Hans Wochinz , (born April 11, 1895 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † February 7, 1961 in Berlin ) was an Austrian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Hans Reinmar was born in Vienna in 1895. After dropping out of architecture training, he turned to singing and gained his first stage experience at the Moravian Theater in Olomouc . After engagements at the opera houses in Zurich , Dresden and Hamburg , he was committed to the Städtische Oper Berlin in 1928, with which he remained connected until his death in 1961.

Reinmar sang an extensive classical repertoire (including Mozart , Wagner , Verdi ) and performed at the Bayreuth Festival from 1939 to 1941 .
