Yucca whipplei subsp. percursa (English common name : "San Rafael Mountains Yucca") is a subspecies of the plant species Yucca whipplei in the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).

description

Yucca whipplei subsp. percursa forms groups by developing rhizomes with loose rosettes. The flexible, finely toothed, green leaves are 20 to 40 cm long and 1 to 2 cm wide.

The grape-shaped inflorescence is 1.5 to 3 meters high. The bell-shaped, cream-colored flowers are 1 to 3 cm long and in diameter. The flowering period extends from April to June. They are rare in the collections in Europe.

distribution

Yucca whipplei subsp. percursa is common in the US state of California at altitudes of up to 600 m.

Systematics

The description by Adelbert Lee Haines under the name Yucca whipplei subsp. percursa was published in 1941.

A synonym is Yucca whipplei var. Percursa J.M.Webber (1953).
