Yukinori Taniguchi ( Japanese 谷口 行 規 , Taniguchi Yukinori ; born September 27, 1968 in Hiroshima , Hiroshima Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver and businessman. He took part in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) with interruptions from 2008 to 2011 .

Yuke's

1993 Taniguchi founded the development studio KK Yuke's ( ユークス , yūkusu ). The company mainly develops wrestling computer games. With Yuke's Taniguchi is the majority owner of the Japanese Wrestling Association Shin-Nihon Pro Wrestling ( Engl. New Japan Pro Wrestling ) involved.

Career in motorsport

Taniguchi initially appeared as a sponsor in motorsport . As a racing driver, he first took part in one-make cups and in 2005 won the championship title in the Super Taikyu . In 2007 he was runner-up in the Japan Le Mans Challenge .

In 2008 Taniguchi made his debut in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). For N.Technology he took part in four races in a Honda Accord Euro R. With a 19th place as the best result, he remained without points. In 2010 Taniguchi returned to the WTCC at bamboo-engineering and received a Chevrolet Lacetti . He took part in eight races and finished the season with a ninth place as the best result in 18th place in the drivers' world championship. He also won the Independents category once . In 2011 Taniguchi started again for bamboo engineering in the WTCC. After the first race weekend, he received a Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T . Seventh place was his best result. Taniguchi did not take part in the last three races because he had irreparably damaged his car in an accident in Shanghai . The accident resulted from Taniguchi not pitting after damaging his car in a collision, but attempting to finish the race. In the overall ranking he was finally in 20th place.
