Yuli Ofer

Yuli Ofer (* 1924 in Galați , Romania ; † September 1, 2011 in Herzliya , Israel ) was an Israeli entrepreneur .

Life

Ofer's parents immigrated to Israel from Romania when Ofer was six months old. The family lived in Haifa . Together with his brother Sammy Ofer, Ofer founded the Ofer Brothers Group in the 1950s, which specializes in shipbuilding, real estate and tourism, and later took over the Israel Corporation and Royal Caribbean .

Together with his brother Sammy Ofer, he was one of the richest Israelis, according to Forbes Magazine , and was listed in The World's Billionaires in 2005 . He owned a collection of paintings, in particular with Impressionist and modern pictures by Marc Chagall, among others . Ofer was married with two children and lived in Israel and Monte Carlo.
