Yundum (spelling variant: Yumdum ) is a town in the West African state of Gambia .

According to a calculation for 2013, around 13,021 inhabitants live there, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 3,545.

geography

Yundum, in the West Coast Region district Kombo North on the southern bank of the Gambia -flow is about ten kilometers south of Serekunda and about nine kilometers north of Brikama removed.

A distinction is made between 'Old Yundum' and 'New Yundum' as districts of Yundum.

Culture and sights

In Yundum a historical tree is known as a place of worship under the name Yaramba and in Old Yundum a historical grove is known as Jantayi .

Economy and Infrastructure

The international airport Banjul International Airport , formerly Yundum International was and is still often referred to as, is located about three kilometers away.
