Yurie Watabe ( Japanese 渡 部 由 梨 恵 , Watabe Yurie ; born January 12, 1989 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese freestyle skier . She starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Watabe started in Copper Mountain in December 2011 for the first time in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and finished 27th. In the 2015/16 season she was 12th, 11th and eighth, tenth in the Halfpipe World Cup. In September 2016, she took third place at the Winter Games New Zealand in Cardrona . In the 2017/18 season she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in the Secret Garden Ski Resort and came 22nd at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang .
