Yusuf Öztürk (born August 1, 1973 ) is a former Turkish light heavyweight boxer .
successes
In 1994 he won bronze medals at the Golden Belt Tournament in Romania and the Goodwill Games in Russia. In 1996, a bronze medal followed at the European Championships in Denmark. After victories in the round of 16 against the Englishman James Branch and in the quarter-finals against the German Thomas Ulrich , he was defeated in the semifinals against the Frenchman Jean-Louis Mandengue 6: 7.
He then started at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , where he was eliminated in the first fight against the Italian Pietro Aurino . At the 1997 World Championships in Hungary he defeated Stipe Drviš from Croatia and Alexei Trofimow from Ukraine, before he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Isael Álvarez from Cuba in 5th place.
