Yvonne Sanchez (born September 4, 1967 in Poland ) is a jazz singer .

Life

Sanchez, who has a Cuban father and a Polish mother, grew up partly in Germany. Although she is a self-taught musician , she brought Józef Skrzek into his band as a percussionist in 1985 . In 1987 she returned to Germany, where she played bass guitar . In 1991/92 she attended jazz festivals in Prague, where she then settled. She formed her own band and also performed with Dan Barta. In 1998 she was named jazz singer of the year in the Czech Republic. In the same year she appeared at the Haifa Film Festival . Her first album Invitation (2002) with the group of Robert Balzar was proposed for a Czech Grammy.
