Yzalú , real name Luiza Yara Lopes Silva (born September 8, 1982 in São Bernardo do Campo ), is a Brazilian singer-songwriter of the Brazilian hip-hop and Música Popular Brasileira .

Life

The Afro-Brazilian Luiza Yara Lopes Silva, artist name Yzalú, was born in São Bernardo do Campo - a city in the greater São Paulo  area. From 2006 to 2008 she studied Marketing at the Methodist University in São Bernardo do Campo. Her musical career began at the age of 16 with self-accompaniment on the acoustic guitar, where she was influenced by the African American Lauryn Hill .

She appeared as a singer with the Essência Black . In 2012 she performed as a guest artist in the concert Detentos do Rap ao Vivo der Detentos do Rap (German: the rap prisoners) at the Bairro Barra Funda in São Paulo. She had other appearances with Brazilian rappers such as Mano Brown , Eduardo , Dexter (singer, 1973), DBS & A Quadrilha , Realidade Cruel , Ferréz and Amanda NegraSim . At the Festival do Rap in the Clube da Ford in the Bairro dos Alvarengas she played Favela é around Bom Lugar of the early deceased rapper Sabotage in front of an audience of 10,000 .

Her first studio album with 12 songs by her was released in 2016 under the title Minha Bossa é Treta on Raposo Records, in which she also processed three unreleased songs by the rapper Sabotage (1973-2003). It was voted the fifth best hip-hop album of 2016 in a poll conducted by the R7 portal .

Her most famous songs are Mulheres Negras , Amar Você and Minha Bossa é Treta . Her themes of equality for women, racism and the Mulheres Negras , the black-skinned Afro-Brazilian women, are emphasized .

She takes part in the Divas do Hip Hop project by Daniela Reigadas (Z'andara), a project that brings women together in a joint show.
