Zanobi Acciaioli

Zanobi Acciaioli (born May 25, 1461 in Florence , † July 27, 1519 in Rome ) was an Italian Dominican . He comes from the Florentine Acciaiuoli family .

Acciaioli entered the Dominican order on December 8, 1495 in the Florentine convent of San Marco . He learned Greek and Hebrew and worked as a librarian in the Monastery of San Marco. In 1518 he was of Leo X. prefect of the Vatican Library appointed.

Acciaioli mainly translated texts from ancient Greek. He also wrote a panegyric on the city of Naples , the Liber de vindicta Dei contra peccatores , and he also wrote poems.
