The Zanuck East Peak is the easternmost of three peaks of the massif of Mount Zanuck in the Queen Maud Mountains of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands .
During the second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd , a team around the geologist Quin Blackburn (1900-1981) visited him . It is named in connection with Mount Zanuck after the Hollywood producer Darryl F. Zanuck (1902–1979), who had supported Byrd's research expedition and later equipped the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) with film projectors .
