Mount Weaver is an approximately 8 km long mountain in the Queen Maud Mountains , which is dominated by three sharp-edged peaks of up to 2525  m in an east-west orientation . It rises on the southern flank of the Albanus Glacier , where it merges into the Scott Glacier and is the highest mountain in the Gothic Mountains group . Its eastern summit is named Zanuck East Peak .

It was discovered by the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd while flying to the South Pole in November 1929 as part of his first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930). During Byrd's second trip to the Antarctic (1933–1935), the geological team around Quin Blackburn (1900–1981) visited him . Byrd named it after the Hollywood producer Darryl F. Zanuck (1902-1979), who had supported Byrd's second expedition to Antarctica and later equipped the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) with film projectors .
