Zave

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zave is located in the province of Mashonaland West in Zimbabwe and is the terminus of a branch line of the National Railways of Zimbabwe from Harare via Maryland . A few kilometers away are Chinhoyi , an attractive tourist town, and Lions Den , a popular safari region. Mostly Lions Den is given as the end of the line, as if Zave was a suburb of it. In fact, that's how it is.

In 2006, SADC discussed an extension of the railway line to Kafue in Zambia on the Lusaka - Livingstone line . It is a US $ 600 million project whose funding has not been secured, but would shorten the transport routes from Beira to the Copperbelt .
