The Zavis Peak is a 2,197 m high and pointed mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises at the southern end of the Founders Escarpment .
A team of geologists at the University of Minnesota , who worked in the area between 1963 and 1964, named him after Alfred Zavis (* 1926), topography engineer for the United States Geological Survey and a member of the team.
