The Feigenbaum colliery was a hard coal mine in the Niederbonsfeld district of Hattingen . The colliery was in operation between April 1838 and September 1923.
Mining history
On March 9, 1836 was carried out ceremony of a square field . Commissioning took place in April 1838, a tunnel was excavated . In 1840 a shaft was sunk and further mining was carried out. The mine was closed on December 18, 1844. In January 1919 the mine and the tunnel were put back into operation. A joint venture was established with the United Aufgottgewagt & Unknown colliery . In 1920, 2 levels were in operation and 3 days of flooding were driven. In 1922, which was promoting placed underground and the colliery Aufgottgewagt uncertain. On October 1, 1923, the Feigenbaum colliery was closed.
Promotion and workforce
The first production figures come from the year 1839, in 1584 ½ Prussian tons of hard coal were mined. In 1841 5244 ¾ Prussian tons of hard coal were mined. In 1842 the production sank to 2944 Prussian tons. The first workforce figures come from 1919, when 34 miners were employed in the mine, who produced 7,630 tons of hard coal. The last known production and workforce figures for the mine are from 1920 - with 44 miners, 9,452 tons of hard coal were extracted.

The Feigenbaum mine in Hattingen-Niederbonsfeld was in operation from 1960 to 1962 . In the year of commissioning, 239 tons of hard coal were mined. In the following year, seven miners extracted 2,812 tons of hard coal. On March 31, the Feigenbaum mine was shut down. It cannot be said with certainty whether there is a connection between the Feigenbaum mine and the Feigenbaum mine.
