The Gottvertraut colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Überruhr . The mine was also known under the name Zeche Auf Gottvertraut or Zeche Gottvertrau . Initially hard coal and later iron stone were extracted from the mine .
history
The beginnings
The mine was already in operation before 1800. In 1802 it was set in time limits . In 1804 a cross passage was first driven, later the mine was set again in time limits. In 1809, shaft 9 was mined . In the year 1811 the daily operation 1 was created, which enabled a steady production. In 1820 the mine was only marginally in operation, a shaft was sunk . This year three miners were employed at the mine. From June 29, 1823, the mine was again given time limits. On August 8, 1826, the mine was put back into operation and the mine workings were made usable again.
The other years
From July 1828, the dismantling began again. Up to the middle of 1830, 32,532½ bushels of hard coal had been mined. From July of the same year, the mine was put back into deadlines. In May of 1832 the mine was put back into operation and in October of the same year it was shut down. In 1856 an iron stone deposit was opened up and ore mining began. The authorized person was now entered in the documents of the mining authority as Eisenstein authorized Neu-Essen VI . In 1858 ore mining was stopped. The reason for this measure was the high sulfur content of the iron ore. In 1886 the Gottvertraut colliery was shut down again. In 1890 the consolidation negotiations with the United Force colliery began. In 1902 there was a consolidation with the United Violence Colliery to become the United Violence Colliery & God Trust .
