Mining history

In 1785 a survey was carried out in the area of Gut Sonnenschein and the Ibachs Mühle . The entire area to the southeast of today's settlement at the crossroads was measured. On January 9th, 1821, a length field was awarded . The mine was put into operation in the fourth quarter of 1854. In 1855 a tunnel was built below the Ibachs mill . The tunnel was driven eastwards from the Pleßbach . The tunnel was created together with the United Verborgenglück colliery . The tunnel was planned to excavate the main seam. This year six miners were employed at the Sunderbank colliery. There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1857. The following year was Schacht Ida to lug sole drilled . The shaft used jointly with the United Verborgenglück colliery had a depth of 25 laughs and was equipped with a reel . On July 21, 1859, there was a fire in the joint mine . Ten miners died in this mine fire. In 1861 the mine was initially still in operation, after which the mine was no longer mentioned in the documents. In 1907 the Sunderbank colliery was acquired by the United Adolar colliery .
