The Thuegut colliery is a former hard coal mine in the Vormholz district of Witten . The mine was also known as the Thugut colliery . The mine was located on today's Vormholzer Straße.
Mining history
On February 16, 1729, the expectation was placed on a coal bank in Herberholz. On April 24th, 1736, the loan took place . Johann Peter Rutenbeck and Jürgen Herberholtz were enfeoffed with the coal bank. Following the loan, the mine went into operation in the area south of today's riding hall. The mine was surveyed in 1739 . At this point the mine was already idle again. In 1750 the mine was in pursuant to paragraph shortage deadlines set. In 1754 and 1755 the deep tunnel was leveled and cleaning work was carried out. From 1758 the mine was in operation for several years. On January 3, 1844, the Längenfeld was re-awarded. From 1863 the mine was by the St. John Erbstollen solved . In 1865 the mining took place in the Ludwig shaft. The bay was tonnlägig and had a length of 88 meters. It was equipped with a horse peg to drive it . From the 2nd quarter of 1873, the mine was again placed in time limits. On January 2nd, 1875, the mine was put back into operation. The mine was finally closed on May 10, 1879. In the years 1906 to 1913 the mine field was cleared by the Laurentius Erbstollen . In 1919 the Thuegut colliery was taken over by the Taugenicht colliery . The Taugenicht colliery then continued to work in the mine field for a while.
Promotion and workforce
The first known workforce figures come from 1754, when two miners were employed at the mine. The first production figures date from 1865, 3206 tons of hard coal were produced . In 1867, 31,704 bushels of hard coal were mined. In 1870, the production was 1439 tons of hard coal, the workforce was seven employees. In 1872 the production sank to 172 tons of hard coal. In the following year, production fell again to 150 tons of hard coal. In 1876, the production was 1306 tons of hard coal, the workforce was seven employees. In 1878, seven employees mined 1346 tons of hard coal. These are also the last known figures for the mine.
