Zehra İpşiroğlu

Zehra Feride İpşiroğlu (born February 12, 1948 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish literary scholar and writer who lives and works in Germany .

Life

The Germanist , philosopher and theater scholar , who studied in her hometown, Freiburg im Breisgau and Berlin , was Professor of Turkish Literature at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Essen from 1998 to 2009 .

In addition to writing his own books on literary and theater studies, İpşiroğlu has translated some important works by German writers into Turkish, for example Friedrich Dürrenmatt's Der Richter und seine Henker (1987) and numerous children's books by Christine Nöstlinger , including Konrad the Child from a Tin (1993) and The Cucumber King (1993). With Das Nashornspiel (1997) İpşiroğlu wrote a highly regarded youth book himself. In 2008/2009 two new books were published by Anadolu Verlag . Including " Dotschland, Dotschland " and " Colors of Dreams ".

  • Orhan Kemal Prize for the children's book Das Nashornspiel (1997)
  • Award "falls out of the frame" for the book Das Nashornspiel (children's and youth magazine Eselsohr Zürich 1997)
