Ali Alavi, who has been released from prison, is a passionate hunter. He finds his freedom in the solitude of the forest. He is married to Sara. They have a young daughter named Saba. Despite his flaw in the former prisoner, he got a job in Tehran as a night watchman. From now on, family life only takes place on weekends. He hardly sees his family during his day-to-day work. One day when he comes home from work, he is waiting for Sara and Saba. But they don't appear. Finally, he goes to the police and files a missing person report. After a long wait, he learns that his wife was shot dead by police during a demonstration. The police say that there is no trace of the daughter. In the end, however, they also have to admit that the daughter was also killed in the exchange of fire with demonstrators. Ali decides to take revenge. The hunter waits for his victims on a city motorway bridge. Numerous private vehicles pass by. Finally he sees a patrol car and shoots two police officers.

Ali goes on the run with his car. He is wanted by helicopter. Two patrol officers go in pursuit. When Ali loses control of his car and speeds into an embankment, he sets off on foot into a forest. The police officers recognize his plan and pursue him. Eventually they can capture him. The younger police officer, who is doing community service, wants to convict him, while the police officer wants to take revenge for his colleagues who have been shot. There is a conflict between the two policemen. The police officer is now guarding Ali in a house, but Ali, thanks to the help of the younger policeman, is able to break free. He overpowers the officer and changes clothes with him. When Ali steps out of the house, the young policeman recognizes him as his colleague and shoots Ali.

criticism

Shekarchi offers strong images , the intensity of which has unfortunately decreased a little in the last twenty minutes. That hardly harms the work in its entirety, however, as the impression of a rousing drama with subliminal social criticism remains. However, it takes a lot of patience before the film can have a lasting effect. "

- Outnow.ch

“The director would certainly have had all the signs of our time in his favor in order to turn the meaningful drama into a really interesting, much discussed work. But time of anger is boring. For 88 minutes the viewer follows a protagonist whose actions and feelings remain strangely remote, whose insides are not explained, whose grief is not illustrated. "
