The journal for philosophical research (ZPhF) is a journal for philosophy founded in 1945/46 by Georgi Schischkoff . It is published quarterly by Vittorio Klostermann Verlag , Frankfurt am Main , and is edited by Gerhard Ernst and Christof Rapp . In addition to the Allgemeine Zeitschrift für Philosophie (AZP), it is the organ of the German Society for Philosophy, which was also initiated by Schischkoff .
The ZphF is dedicated to all problem areas, currents and specializations of philosophy in historical and systematic terms. It connects the philosophical disciplines and brings hermeneutic and language analytical philosophy , philosophy of science , ethics , aesthetics and political philosophy into conversation. The papers published in it go through an anonymous review process ( double-blind peer review or double-masked review). The reviewers usually come from the group of the advisory board and the contributors.
When Georgi Schischkoff founded the magazine, it was not just about resuming the philosophical discourse in post-war Germany , but also about a moral and political renewal. The first issue of the spring of 1946 begins with a contribution by Herder and Leibniz researcher Kurt Huber , who belonged to the White Rose resistance group and was executed in 1943. In addition, on the occasion of Leibniz 's 300th birthday, the treatise Leibniz and We was published from Huber's estate . Schischkoff's program of enabling “a really free philosophical discussion” in all directions is something the journal for philosophical research feels obliged to this day.
