The Zeppelin Rental GmbH , formerly MVS Zeppelin, headquartered in Garching near Munich offers solutions in the field of machine and equipment rental, building site, construction logistics and module manufacturing. The company has 145 locations in Germany, Austria, Russia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and employed 1,336 people in the 2017 financial year. The company is a subsidiary of the Friedrichshafen-based Zeppelin Group .
history
In the 1990s, Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH began to open rental bases. In 2003 the rental activities of MVS AG were taken over by Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH and the independent MVS Zeppelin GmbH & Co. KG was founded. In 2009 the Austrian MVS Zeppelin Austria (today Zeppelin Rental Austria) became a 100% subsidiary . In the same year the business operations of the construction site protection Dietrich were acquired. In 2010 Zeppelin Rental took over 80% of Berndt Verkehrstechnik and in 2011 GSL Equipment Rental, Service, Logistics became part of the company.
In January 2012 the company was renamed Zeppelin Rental GmbH & Co. KG. One year later, Zeppelin Rental took over the remaining 20% of the shares in Berndt Verkehrstechnik. In March 2013, the company founded Zeppelin Industrial Services (power plant, chemical and petrochemical plant construction), in which GSL Equipment Rental, Service, Logistics (with effect from June 2, 2012 GSL Zeppelin) was merged. The takeover of Blohm + Voss Inspection Service took place in October 2013. In 2014 the Zeppelin Group bought the project service division of the Hochtief subsidiary Streif Baulogistik, which from then on traded as Zeppelin Streif Baulogistik. Also in 2014, the Klickrent (online marketplace for rental businesses), a 100% subsidiary, was spun off, which is now part of the Z Lab strategic business unit. In 2016, Zeppelin acquired the rental division of forklift Rent 2000. In July 2017, the business activities of Zeppelin Rental and Zeppelin Streif Baulogistik were merged to form Zeppelin Rental. Also in 2017, Zeppelin Rental took over 100 percent of the shares in Limes Mobil. In 2018, Zeppelin takes over 100 percent of the shares in the construction site traffic technology, whose business activities were merged with Zeppelin Rental in 2019. In addition, in 2019 Zeppelin acquired 100% of the shares in the Luther Group, consisting of Luther HL and METON.
Services
The core business of Zeppelin Rental is the rental of machines and devices, construction logistics and temporary infrastructure. The rental program includes:
- Construction machinery ( excavators , loaders , rollers and caterpillars )
- Construction equipment (e.g. compaction equipment, compressors and equipment for milling, cutting and grinding)
- Devices for lighting, heating, drying and cooling
- Elevators , cranes and work platforms
- Scaffolding and construction stairs
- Equipment for gardening and landscaping
- Forklifts and telehandlers
- Construction vehicles (such as flatbed trucks and trucks)
- Container and trailer
- Material for building site and traffic safety
The construction logistics includes the planning and coordination of all construction logistics processes including access control, supply and disposal logistics, occupational safety, health and safety coordination (SiGeKo) and training courses as well as construction management with project and site development, building assessment and workplace management. The temporary infrastructure ranges from construction site and traffic safety to electrical construction site equipment and energy supply to modular room solutions for rent, purchase or in the operator model.
