Life

Zheng Lu was born in 1978 in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia . He studied at one of the most prestigious universities of fine arts in China, the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, where he received his Bachelor of Arts. Zheng Lu developed his artistic style through constant revision. " Water in Dipping ", " Bow without Arrow " and other early works are based on Chinese calligraphy . With his sculptures he formed Chinese calligraphy in metal, which leads to the contradiction of “formless form”. Zheng Lu's visual art thus reflects an interpretation and further development of Chinese traditions.

In the “ Resurface ” exhibition at Gajah Gallery ( Singapore , 2014), Zheng used ordinary machines and digital tools to create and destroy paintings in a standardized and industrialized manner.

He used water in his solo exhibitions “ HOH ” at the Between Art Lab ( Beijing , 2015), “SHIOSAI” at the Museum of Contemporary Art ( Taipei , 2015), and “ Transition ” at the Parkview Green Exhibition Hall (Beijing, 2016). The use of multimedia, new technologies and physical experiments creates a symbiosis for the interpretation of the physical transformation of water.
