The Škoda 1Tr was the first trolleybus from the Czechoslovak manufacturer Škoda . The Škoda 1Tr was one of three vehicle types that were built for the newly opened trolleybus network in the capital Prague .

technology

The chassis came from the Škoda 553 type, but was adapted to be equipped with a traction motor and electrical equipment. The body was supplied by the Škoda works from Mladá Boleslav , the electrical equipment was manufactured by Škoda-Pilsen. The wooden body was reinforced with metal elements and sheet metal outer skin.

The vehicle was a trolleybus with one drive axle and two running axles . The Škoda 1Tr was equipped with electromotive brakes , compressed air and hand brakes. It was designed for left-hand traffic, with two folding doors installed on the left. An additional, smaller door allowed access to the driver's cab. After the creation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia , the trolleybus was switched to right-hand traffic.

prototype

The only prototype was built in 1936. Together with the Praga TOT and Tatra 86 series, it was suitable for the first “modern” trolleybus network in Czechoslovakia (the trolleybus networks that had previously been in operation were shut down after the First World War ). The trolleybus was given the number 301. In 1955 the trolleybus was decommissioned. A year later it was transferred to the State Technical Museum in Prague, where it was scrapped in 1961.
