Zidani Most [ ˈzidani ˈmɔːst ] (German Steinbrück , formerly also Klausenstein ) is a village in central Slovenia in Lower Styria (Slov. Štajerska ). Zidani Most belongs to the Laško municipality and is located at the mouth of the Savinja River into the Save . According to the 2002 census, the village has 330 inhabitants.

The name of the village goes back to a bridge near the city. The bridge on the Save was built in Roman times. In the 15th century the city and the second bridge, which was built in the 13th century, were destroyed by the Cillier general Jan Vitovec in a battle against the Habsburgs . Today there are three Savinja bridges, two railway bridges and one road bridge at Zidani most.

Between 1846 and 1849 the station and the surrounding sections of the southern railway were built; In addition to Steinbrück, the two places Milan and Venezia / Venice were created at this time, named after the places of origin of the workers who built the railway. In the summer of 1862, Zidani Most became a crossroads of important railway lines through the expansion of the railway to Zagreb and Sisak . Since then, the Zidani Most – Novska railway has branched off from the old Austrian Southern Railway , which runs from Trieste and Ljubljana to Maribor , Graz and Vienna .
