Ziegler Point is a high crag or foothill on the southeast side of the Gross Hills in the West Antarctic Heritage Range .

Ziegler Point was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the mapping of the Ellsworth Mountains in 1961-66 through field surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named Ziegler Point after Ernest L. Ziegler, an operator in the United States Navy who worked as a participant in Operation Deep Freeze in 1966 at the McMurdo Research Station .
