Zienken is a village in the Markgräflerland in Baden-Württemberg , Zienken has 935 inhabitants. Zienken was self-employed until it was incorporated into the city of Neuenburg am Rhein in 1971 .
geography
The village is located three kilometers north of the Neuchâtel city center, not far from the Old Rhine .
history
1251 the place is mentioned for the first time as Zuinkon in a document. Another document from 1360 mentions a church Zünkon in decanatu Newenburg . Via Zünckheim (1493) and Zeünken (1560) the name developed into today's Zienken.
On December 1, 1971, Zienken was incorporated into the city of Neuchâtel. The last mayor of the village was Fritz Kaltenbach.
