Zikoniya Island (English; Bulgarian остров Цикония ostrow Zikonija ) is an east-west facing 140 m long and 120 m wide island in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is 4.75 km northwest of Bulnes Point , 1.38 km northwest of Melanita Island and 7.6 km west of Romero Point off Spert Island and the southwest side of Trinity Island .
British scientists mapped it in 1978. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it on 2018 after the trawler Zikonija , which was used for industrial fishing in the waters around South Georgia , around the Kerguelen , around the South Orkney Islands from the 1970s to the early 1990s , around the South Shetland Islands and around the Antarctic Peninsula.
