Augustus "Zinky" Cohn (born August 18, 1908 in Oakland , † April 26, 1952 in Chicago ) was an American jazz musician ( piano , composition).
Cohn played in Jimmie Noone's Apex Club Orchestra in Chicago between 1928 and 1930 ; with Noone he recorded numerous records between 1929 and 1934, especially for Vocalion Records . He also composed and arranged for Noone; so the Apex Blues (formerly attributed to Earl Hines ) comes from Cohn.

In the early 1930s he was also the leader of a band with tenor saxophonist Leon Washington , with whom he also recorded. He also accompanied blues singers like Georgia White .
