The Cistercian abbey Nizelles was 1439-1784 a monastery of Cistercian in Ophain-Bois-Seigneur-Isaac, Braine-l'Alleud , Walloon Brabant , in Belgium .

history

Monks of the Cistercian abbey of Moulins founded the monastery of Nizelles (Janauschek 722, Filiation 26.2) near the Cistercian abbey of Wauthier-Braine (originally as a refuge) in 1439 , which was officially dissolved by Joseph II in 1784 . The rest of the property was restored in 1999 and is now a private center for receptions, seminars and cultural events.
