The Moulins Cistercian Abbey was a monastery of the Cistercians from 1233 to 1414 and the Cistercians in Anhée , Province of Namur , Diocese of Namur in Belgium from 1414 to 1787 .

history

In 1233 founded the nuns of Soleilmont on the river Molignée, not far from the Meuse , the monastery Alleu-Notre-Dame ("Allodium Beatae Mariae"), whose convent 1414 against a convent with monks of the monasteries Villers-la-Ville and Aulne due to insufficient compliance with the order rule had to be replaced (Janauschek 716, Filiation 26). Antoine Le Waitte should be mentioned among the abbots . Moulins founded the monasteries Le Jardinet , Nizelles and Boneffe . The monastery was closed by Joseph II in 1787 and later dismantled. The abbey house that still exists is used privately.

In the vicinity of Moulins there are three other monasteries on the same river: the Benedictine Abbey of Maredsous , the Benedictine Abbey of Maredret , and the Benedictine Abbey of Ermeton-sur-Biert.
