Cistercian Abbey of L'Amour-Dieu
The Cistercian Abbey of L'Amour-Dieu was 1232-1791 a monastery of Cistercian nuns first in Troissy , Canton Dormans , from 1763 in Montmirail , a municipality in the department of Marne in France .
history
By converting an existing infirmary between Château-Thierry and Épernay south of the Marne near today's Troissy, a local nobleman donated the nunnery Amour-Dieu (Latin: Amor Dei "God's love"), which was run at the instigation of the Bishop of Soissons, Jacques de Bazoches , supported by Blanka of Castile who became Cistercian in 1240 . In 1763 the convent moved to Montmirail-Bouquigny in the vacant Benedictine priory of Mont-Dieu . There it was dissolved in 1791 by the French Revolution . In Troissy today (west of the town center) there are few remains of buildings part of a farm on the access road "L'Amour-Dieu".
