Cristiano Bodo (born July 30, 1968 in Vercelli , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Saluzzo .

Life

Cristiano Bodo entered the boys' seminary at the age of twelve and studied Catholic theology at the theological faculty for Northern Italy in Padua . He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Vercelli on May 29, 1993 .

After further studies, he obtained a licentiate in theology in Padua . From 1991 until 1995 he was the personal secretary of the Archbishops Albino Mensa and Tarcisio Bertone SDB . After his ordination he was active in pastoral care in addition to his various special tasks up to his appointment as bishop. From 1996 to 1999 he was subregens of the Vercelli seminary , diocesan director for vocational pastoral care and in charge of pastoral ministry for altar boys . At times he was responsible for pastoral care for children, young people and universities as well as the archbishopric responsible for sport and spiritual guide to various sports clubs.

In 2005 he became Episcopal Vicar for the Pastoral Care of Young People and from 2007 to 2015 he was Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Vercelli. In 2007 he was awarded the honorary title of Pontifical honor prelates and 2014 he was with a work on the permanent diaconate to Dr. theol. PhD . Since 2015 he has been Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Care.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Saluzzo on December 17, 2016 . The Archbishop of Vercelli, Marco Arnolfo , donated him episcopal consecration on March 25 of the following year. Co-consecrators were the senior archbishop of Vercelli, Enrico Masseroni , and his predecessor Giuseppe Guerrini . The inauguration in the diocese of Saluzzo took place on April 2, 2017.
