The Cistercian convent Petersberg was from 1259 to 1525 a convent of the Cistercian women in Petersberg (Saale-Holzland-Kreis) in Thuringia .

history

A Cistercian convent was founded in the valley of the Wethau in 1259, to which the village of Petersberg bei Eisenberg owes its existence. In the course of the Reformation , the monastery was dissolved in 1525. The current church of St. Peter and Paul is more recent. The monastery is not to be confused with the Petersberg monastery on the Petersberg (near Halle) .
