Zoltán Szélesi [ ˈzoltaːn ˈseːlɛʃi ] (born November 22, 1981 ) is a former Hungarian football player . Until July 2016 he was assistant trainer to Bernd Storck and Andreas Möller for the Hungarian national team . He currently looks after Hungary's U-17s .

Career

Szélesi played until 2004 when Hungarian capital club Újpest FC and denied at right-back in four years, over 100 games in the first Hungarian league . He once took part in the UEFA Cup for the Hungarians .

After he had become runner-up in 2004 and had also played a few games in the national team , he decided to move abroad.

Zoltán Szélesi joined the second division Energie Cottbus . In the second year with the Niederlausitz team they were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga , even if he was out of the season due to a metatarsal fracture. After the successful relegation with Cottbus in the 2006/07 season , he moved to the 2007/08 season for the French first division club Racing Strasbourg . After two years he returned to his Hungarian homeland and joined Debreceni VSC . With Debrecen he was master of the Nemzeti Bajnokság 2009/10 . Szélesi speaks fluent German .
